Oral Hygiene day is celebrated all across India on August 1st to commemorate the ‘Birth Anniversary of Dr. G.B. Shankwalkar, the doyen of Indian Periodontology and Founding member of the Indian Society of Periodontology. As a part of this celebration, multiple programmes are held to spread the awareness among the public regarding the importance of oral hygiene in maintaining good oral health.
On the occasion of Oral Hygiene Day on 01st August, 2020, the Department of Periodontology, Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Malwanchal University conducted a Video Competition on the following topics:
- Tooth Brushing Methods
- Oral Hygiene Instructions to the patients
- Myths Surrounding Periodontal Treatment
- Do’s and Don’ts for Good Oral Hygiene
The competition was open to 3rd and 4th years BDS Students and Interns.
A panel of senior teachers was constituted to adjudicate the winners.

A Live National Webinar was organized by Dept. of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Indore on the subject of "Intellectual Property Rights" on 23rd June 2020.
The event was a huge success with more than 250 participants from all over the country and was a fruitful interactive session. The speaker for the event was Dr. Ruchi Sharma, Associate Professor, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Indore.

An Awareness Health Talk on CORONA VIRUS was also organized highlighting the precautions to be taken.
